9. Wedding Decorations
Depending on the type of wedding reception being planned, it will probably have one or more special characteristics. These might be based on heritage, history, theme or simply personal preference. After all, you want this day to be spectacular, creating a memorable day of happiness and sharing for the family and friends.
9.1 Wedding Bells
These small bells are available in sizes from one to two inches and are designed with a small ringer located in the middle. When shaken, a very gentle sound is produced, which is soft and pleasant.
Made with a tiny hole near the top, there is a string or ribbon looped through so the bells can also be mounted and displayed at the reception once the wedding ceremony concludes. Wedding bells are typically sold in packages of 12 or 24 and can be found at bridal stores, discount stores or paper warehouses.
The purpose of the wedding bell is two-fold. First, because they come in silver and gold, they make a beautiful addition to the centrepiece, enhancing any style wedding. They can also be placed near each plate, becoming a part of the table setting.
Second, wedding bells are used to get the couple’s attention. At Greek weddings, guests will tap their plate or glass with the fork as a way of encouraging the newly married couple to kiss. In the same way, the wedding bells are used to prompt kissing but without worry of having broken dishes. In addition to functionality, because the sound made by the bells is not annoying, they make a great distraction for older children.
Being affordable and attractive, the bells offer a touch of class. For the reception, something so affordable and small can make a huge impression, adding to the magic of the day.
